GE HealthCare Q1 Beats Street, Cuts FY25 Adj. EPS View Below Market; Plans $1 Bln Buyback; Stock Up

(RTTNews) - GE HealthCare Technologies Inc. (GEHC), while announcing higher first-quarter results above market estimates, on Wednesday trimmed its fiscal 2025 adjusted earnings forecast below market estimates to include the estimated impact from announced tariffs.

The company also announced that its Board of Directors has authorized the repurchase of up to $1 billion of its common stock.

In pre-market activity on the Nasdaq, GE HealthCare shares were gaining around 3.5 percent to trade at $70.50.

For the year, the company now expects adjusted earnings per share in the range of $3.90 to $4.10, compared to previous guidance in the range of $4.61 to $4.75. The outlook includes approximately $0.85 of tariff impact.

The revised outlook reflects a decline of 9 percent to 13 percent from prior year's adjusted earnings per share of $4.49.

The Wall Street analysts on average expect the company to report earnings of $4.69 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Adjusted EBIT margin is now projected to be 14.2 percent to 14.4 percent, compared to previous guidance of 16.7 percent to 16.8 percent. The revised outlook reflects a decline of 210 bps to a decline of 190 bps versus 2024 aAdjusted EBIT margin of 16.3 percent.

Further, the company continues to expect organic revenue growth of 2 percent to 3 percent year-over-year.

In its first quarter, GE HealthCare's bottom line totaled $564 million or $1.23 per share, compared with $374 million, or $0.81 per share, last year.

Adjusted earnings were $464 million or $1.01 per share for the period, compared to $0.90 per shre last year. Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.91 per share.

The company's revenue for the period rose 2.7 percent to $4.777 billion from $4.650 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $4.66 billion.
